This one is really easy, as you are probably pretty friendly with most of your current clients. Talk to them! Explain that you’re looking for ways to grow your business, talk about your goals and dreams of becoming a successful salon owner. They will love to hear your passion for your beauty business.
You could simply ask them to just tell their friends and family in the area about your beauty services, or you could offer them something in return. Personally, I hate asking someone to do something without offering something back. You could offer £5-10 off their next treatment. Any referrals they bring in will more than likely be pretty loyal clients, so it’s worth the investment!
You’ll need a way to track referrals, there are lots of apps available for it or simply use a pen and paper and every time someone comes in and mentions their name you put a mark next to their name. Then you can offer the client something when you see them next.
Tip 2 Make It Easy To Book
This might seem obvious, but if it’s not easy to book an appointment with you, it can be off putting. I know from personal experience that the only time I stop and think about what beauty treatments I need is when I'm sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea at 9pm while Stranger Things is on in the background. If I can’t book online, I’m not booking because the chances are I would have forgotten the next day. So making your services easily available to customers (both new and existing) is really important for attracting new clients to your beauty salon.
There are lots of free booking apps you can use these days which you can add to your bio on Instagram or add to the header of your website. Make sure your customers know how to book which you can do by adding a ‘highlights’ section on Insta titled, ‘how to book’ or pin the information to the top of your Instagram grid.
Tip 3 Improve Your Social Media
Beauty is huge on Instagram and it’s an amazing way to attract new clients to your beauty salon. Personally, I’m obsessed with watching people do cute hairstyles or detailed nail art, my reel feed is full of it!
If you aren’t sure what to post on social media keep this in mind ‘everything is content’ from the coffee you have to start your busy day, to a fresh set of lashes filmed on timelapse. Just film and have fun with it.
If you are finding you are doing everything you can do on social media and it still isn't attracting new clients to your beauty salon then try a different platform, if you’ve been using Instagram maybe it's time to give TikTok or Facebook some attention!
